ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 15, 2008) – The Community Place of Greater Rochester has named Linda Weissegger vice president for development. Weissegger will oversee the development efforts of the agency, with a special focus on developing individual and corporate donor relationship. She will spearhead fundraising events, annual and endowment campaigns, and advancement of The Community Place's new alumni societies- Lewis Street Center Society of Friends, Genesee Settlement House Society of Friends, and Eastside Community Center Society of Friends.
Weissegger, a Rochester native and current Brighton resident, brings a wealth of knowledge to her position. She has served in a number of development roles throughout her career, including as campaign director for the Rochester General Hospital Foundation, director of development for the college at the University of Rochester, major gift officer at St. Joseph’s Villa, and in a number of development capacities at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester.
The Community Place of Greater Rochester, Inc. is a nonprofit provider of neighborhood-based human services that offers a variety of programs and services to individuals, families, children, the aging, and the developmentally disabled living in the greater Rochester area. The Community Place was formed from the merger of the former Lewis Street Center, Genesee Settlement House, and Eastside Community Center. 2007 marks The Community Place’s centennial.
