ROCHESTER, N.Y. (June 4, 2009) –
In today’s economy, it’s hard to get a decent return on your investments. But suppose you could get $3 back for every dollar you invest? How about $10 on the dollar?
Too good to be true?
It’s reality for donors who support The Community Place of Greater Rochester, Inc. Every dollar spent on early childhood education saves $3 in remediation. Every dollar spent on youth development returns $10 in public benefits.
And it gets better. Total program cost for each person served by the Senior Companion Services is $4600 per year. An alternative is $70,000 for nursing home residency.
On June 4, donors will be treated to an entertaining evening hosted by Rochester radio personality Dee Alexander, with live jazz by the John Nyerges Quartet – and delicious food, a silent auction and a reverse raffle.
The event will be held at the Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $100 per person or $700 for a table of eight.

Among the numerous items in the auction are tickets to a Rochester Rhinos game, gift certificates for handcrafted jewelry, a month of dance classes at the Garth Fagan studio, and several athletic club monthly memberships.
All proceeds will benefit the programs of The Community Place, including the Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs, and other services for the aging.
Foster Grandparent volunteers provide underserved youth with loving guidance to enable them to succeed in school. Senior Companions volunteer with frail elders who need a bit of extra help to remain in their own homes as an alternative to nursing home placement.
The Community Place of Greater Rochester, Inc. is a non-profit human service agency that provides services and programs to more than 9000 low income individuals and families in Rochester.
