Opening Night Party to Benefit The Community Place of Greater Rochester
“A Taste of Spring,” a fundraising event for The Community Place of Greater Rochester (CPGR), will kick off GardenScape 2018 with a special preview of this spectacular flower show on Wednesday, March 7th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM at The Dome Arena in Henrietta, NY.
The Community Place of Greater Rochester is a non-profit human service agency that builds community by helping families to meet their basic needs while promoting health, wellness, and education.
Guests of “A Taste of Spring” will stroll through beautiful gardens and enjoy an hors d’oeuvres reception, dessert, and live music before the doors open to the general public on March 8th. CPGR also will sell fresh flowers at the preview reception and at the show itself.
Tickets for this special event are $50.00 per person and may be purchased on the CPGR website at www.communityplace.org or by calling 585-327-7200 x113.
“We are honored to be a part of the GardenScape family,” said Garfield Grant, Interim CEO of The Community Place of Greater Rochester. “This event is great opportunity for people to find out about the important and meaningful work being done by The Community Place.”
The Community Place was founded on the belief that everyone should enjoy the same health, economic, and social opportunities no matter who they are or where they live. It was created as a merger of the Lewis Street Center, Genesee Settlement House and Eastside Community Center and primarily serves residents of Northeast Rochester.
CPGR offers educational programs for young children and young adults, supports teens with programs addressing drug and alcohol prevention, and runs programs for youth with developmental disabilities. It also features programs that help older adults to remain healthy and independent, as well as programs that provide food and other basic needs for challenged individuals and families. Some 10,000 individuals annually benefit from CPGR programs and services.
