The Community Place provides neighborhood-based services and, utilizes a collaborative approach that allows partnerships with other best-in-class public and private agencies to offer the best services possible. The agency formed in 2001 from the merger of Lewis Street Center, Genesee Settlement House, and Eastside Community Center, has settlement house roots that stretch back 100 years. We still hold strong to the goal of providing everyone, regardless of social or economic background, with the best society has to offer.

On Sunday, July 26, 2009 over 100 16th Ward/Lewis Street alumni and friends gathered at Camp Eastman. Some came from Florida and Virginia to renew or rediscover friendships that spanned 60 years! Rnews covered the occasion. Enjoy the video below.
